Privacy Policy

The short version

Silencers.how is an educational site. There are no accounts, no logins, no forms, no newsletter, and no shopping cart. We do not ask you for your name, address, email, phone number, or payment details, because there is nothing on this site that would need them.

The one thing we do collect is anonymous traffic analytics, described below.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-PGKQ968KCP) to understand which pages people read and how they arrive. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and reports information such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, referring site, device type, browser, and time on page.

Google Analytics 4 does not log or store full IP addresses. IP masking is applied by default in GA4 and cannot be turned off.

We look at this data in aggregate. We use it to decide which state pages need work and which guides people actually read. We do not attempt to identify individual visitors, and the data we receive does not let us do so.

Google processes this data as our service provider. Google's own handling is governed by its privacy policy, which you can read at policies.google.com/privacy.

Cookies

The only cookies this site sets are the Google Analytics cookies described above. There are no advertising cookies, no retargeting pixels, and no third-party trackers beyond Google Analytics.

You can block or delete these through your browser settings, or install Google's opt-out browser add-on. The site works normally either way.

Links to other sites

Silencers.how is operated by Capitol Armory, and pages on this site link to capitolarmory.com. Those links are marked as sponsored in the page source. When you follow one, you are on a different site with its own privacy policy and its own data practices, and this policy no longer applies.

The same is true of links to state legislature sites, wildlife agencies, court opinions, and other third-party sources cited throughout this site.

What we do not do

• We do not sell your data. There is no data to sell.
• We do not build advertising profiles or run retargeting.
• We do not require an account, and we do not maintain a mailing list.
• We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Your choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information a site holds about you, including under the California Consumer Privacy Act and similar state laws. Because this site does not collect information that identifies you, there is generally nothing for us to retrieve or delete. If you believe otherwise, contact us using the details below and we will look into it.

Most browsers also offer a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal. Google Analytics behavior with respect to those signals is controlled by Google.

Changes to this policy

If we change what this site collects, we will update this page and change the effective date at the top. Material changes will be noted here rather than made silently.
